Emergency teams, including local firefighters and volunteers, rescued several people, including children, from burning structures within the market complex. While property damage is extensive, authorities reported no immediate fatalities or serious injuries from the blaze.
Mayor Roberto Contreras confirmed Tuesday that the fire has been brought under control. To support the displaced vendors, Contreras announced that food assistance—including 300 breakfasts and 500 lunches—is being distributed through Power Chicken, a local company he heads.
