Storm chasers inspect damage as Storm Goretti batters St Ives
This compilation captures the raw power of Storm Goretti as it strikes the St Ives area of Cornwall during a rare red weather warning. With forecast gusts of up to 100mph, the storm has caused widespread disruption across coastal and inland communities.
Storm chasers on the ground witnessed and were directly impacted by the extreme conditions — from trees collapsing without warning, to moments of being surrounded by falling timber as the storm intensified. In several locations, chasers assisted local residents using chainsaws to clear fallen trees blocking roads and access routes.
