Driving rain battered homes in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Residents experienced severe thunderstorms and intense gusts of wind on January 30 at 6 pm.

Footage shows heavy rainfall engulfing houses, along with a strong windstorm. Roads were reportedly flooded due to the continuous rainstorm.

Local media reported that six public schools were closed due to major flooding causing accessibility issues on their campuses.

Residents were advised to remain cautious as floodwaters recede and authorities assess the damage.

State health officials said: 'The public is advised to stay out of floodwaters and stormwater runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewers, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.'

The storm has left thousands without power, roads blocked by floods and fallen trees, and grounded island air traffic.
