China marked the sixth Chinese People's Police Day on Saturday with nationwide ceremonies. On the day, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of State Security, the Ministry of Justice, and other departments held a series of activities, including flag-raising ceremonies, the playing and singing of the Chinese People’s Police anthem, and oath-taking ceremonies. In recent days, police departments across multiple provinces and municipalities have also organized hands-on and interactive activities, allowing students and members of the public to gain insight into police equipment, smart policing, and public safety knowledge. In addition, police officers in many places across the country educated the public on drug prevention, taught skills to guard against telecommunications and internet fraud, and promoted road traffic safety knowledge through face-to-face outreach activities, the distribution of informational brochures, and the use of simulation models. Railway and civil aviation police across the country have enhanced travelers' safety awareness through various safety promotion activities. At the same time, immigration authorities across China invited the public to visit border crossings and ports to raise awareness of entry and exit policies and related laws. The Chinese People's Police Day falls on Jan. 10 each year, corresponding with the country's emergency call number, 110. The establishment of the day was approved in 2020 in recognition of the extraordinary work of China's public security officers. Shotlist: China - Jan 10, 2026: 1.
