This is the moment a Pokémon-mad couple captured themselves pulling one of the rarest Pokémon cards - the elusive Victini, worth around $550 CAD.

Samantha Rudderham, 30, filmed the moment she and fiancé Cody, 31, opened a pack and discovered the Victini card from the sought-after Black Bolt set.

The clip, filmed at the couple's home, shows the pair shrieking with excitement as the ultra-rare card appears.

Samantha said it was their "first really big pull" and the joy was written all over their faces."

The Victini card is currently worth around $550 CAD, making it one of the more valuable pulls in the Black Bolt set and highly sought after by collectors.

Samantha, from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, said: "We were both over the moon. Cody and I just couldn't stop smiling — it was such a fun moment to experience together."

Samantha and Cody both grew up collecting Pokémon cards but this was their first "really big pull" since returning to the hobby as adults."

Samantha got back into Pokémon after playing Legends: Arceus, and now boasts an entire right leg covered in Pokémon tattoos.

Cody even kept his original childhood binder of cards from the Game Boy Colour era.

Samantha said: "We both grew up with Pokémon cards in our childhood and only got back into collecting about a year ago. The value doesn't matter to us as much as the excitement of sharing the hobby together."

Up until now, the priciest card they'd ever pulled was worth roughly $100, making this moment a major milestone in their collecting journey.

The couple have been together almost ten years and bonded instantly over their shared nostalgia.

They now estimate that their growing collection is worth around $5,000 CAD, including hundreds of cards - roughly 100 of which are considered valuable.
