Ahmad Ramzi Bayoglu, a member of the Kirkuk Provincial Council’s Turkmen group, said the electricity crisis has persisted for around 10 days. He criticized the relevant ministry’s system, arguing that despite poor service across large parts of the city, authorities have failed to intervene.
Bayoglu said both the Baghdad government and the Kirkuk administration should prioritize basic public services, urging officials to take swift action to resolve chronic problems in the city—starting with electricity.
Protester Hajje Yashar Golshe said the continuous blackouts have disrupted daily life for all Kirkuk residents, warning that demonstrations would continue unless the electricity supply is improved.
