Red panda in China tries to escape on escalator but fails
On October 7, 2025, in Harbin, located in northeastern China’s Heilongjiang Province, a video showed a small red panda with brown fur and white ears attempting an escape inside a polar-themed park. The animal hopped onto an escalator, hoping it would take it upward.
Unfortunately for the panda, the escalator was moving downward. Each time it ran a few steps, the moving stairs carried it back to the bottom. After several attempts, the exhausted panda gave up its escape plan.
A staff member gently grabbed its tail and guided it back to its original enclosure. The amusing but harmless moment drew attention from Chinese visitors.
