2. VARIOUS POV SHOT OF WRECKEGE OF TRAINS CORDOBA, SPAIN - JAN. 18, 2026: The death toll from a collision involving two high-speed trains near the city of Cordoba in Spain’s southern Andalusia region has risen to 39, authorities said.

According to Spain’s state news agency EFE, citing regional government and Civil Protection sources, 48 people are receiving medical treatment following the crash, which occurred on Friday evening near the town of Adamuz.

Twelve of the injured are reported to be in intensive care.

More than 150 people were given first aid at a field hospital set up in Adamuz after the incident.
