This is the amusing moment a cheeky stray was caught on camera shoplifting its favourite snack from a supermarket.

CCTV footage shows the calico feline casually walking into a grocery store in Jiangsu, China, to steal a cat food sausage from the shelf.

The kitty can be seen cautiously strolling through the aisles before stopping at the food display.

After sniffing several packages, it bit into one of the cylindrical treats to pull it from the container.

The cat then sprinted out of the store with the snack, but the treat fell several times, forcing the feline to stop and retrieve it.

Moments later, the animal successfully made its getaway, carrying the snack, while an unsuspecting worker at the counter remained distracted by her phone.
