ALEPPO DEPUTY GOVERNOR FERHAT KORTO SPEAKING TO REPORTER (In Turkish) ALEPPO, SYRIA - JANUARY 25: The Syrian government has dispatched a 24-vehicle convoy carrying humanitarian supplies to Ayn al-Arab, an area under the control of the YPG, following the extension of a temporary ceasefire, officials said.

Coordinated by the Aleppo Governorate, the convoy of United Nations relief items departed from Aleppo on the first day of the renewed truce, which Syria’s Defense Ministry said was extended for 15 days starting at 11:00 p.m. on Jan. 24.

Syrian authorities had previously announced plans to open a humanitarian corridor for civilians in the area.

Aleppo Deputy Governor Ferhat Korto said winter relief packages were prepared “for our brothers, citizens and relatives” in Ayn al-Arab.

He added that the convoy includes food, hygiene kits, baby supplies, as well as medical equipment and medicines, and will be delivered to the town.
