What looks like a giant kettle on the boil in the woods is pumping out steam into the atmosphere in North East Thailand.
This strange scene, that reminds me of a boiling kettle, is actually a charcoal kiln where they manufacture charcoal for use in cooking etc, by slowly burning logs of wood inside this mound made from clay. This is very common in rural Thailand and Ive seen many before. However this was my first time to see one that reminded me of a kettle on the boil.
