A suspicious bag sparked a passenger evacuation at Miami International Airport.

Thousands of travellers were moved from parts of the South Terminal after an unattended luggage was reported near Departures Door 21 shortly after 5 pm local time on January 25.

Officers responded by evacuating security screening areas at Concourses G, H, and J while bomb squad teams examined the scene.

Footage from inside the building shows large crowds of holidaymakers waiting as emergency responders assess the situation.

Several departures were delayed, and some flights were cancelled during the heightened security response.

After more than two hours, officials confirmed that no threat had been found and that normal airport operations resumed.
