An interesting "social experiment" video has emerged of a man pretending to be homeless trying to give out money to passers-by.

The footage, shot in July in San Luis Obispo, CA, USA, shows a man dressed as a homeless person handing a hat full of cash to people walking by asking them to help themselves.

"Interestingly, it seemed that those that had the least to give where the ones that gave… while the general public ignored obvious attempts to talk and gift money to them" the filmer observed at the end of the experiment.

"We attempted to give out $500 in cash for this experiment. At the end of the entire day, we were within .50 cents of where we started!"

"We set out to get reactions by pranking people, but what we got was better" he added.
