Lorry hits van on hard shoulder on M56, junction 6

Buy video

The footage shows my girlfriend travelling along the M56 towards Manchester on the 8th December at about 1:15pm (time and date on the video is incorrect). She captured the footage on her new dashcam which has only been installed for a couple of weeks. She initially believed that the van was being towed by the lorry, and had somehow become detached and hit the safety barrier. On analysing the footage, it shows that the van was actually stationary on the hard shoulder and was struck at full speed, lifting the back end of the van into the air, causing a lot of damage and debris.

I have edited the length of the video as the raw footage is about 3 minutes long.
