Footage has emerged from China of a theme park ride suddenly stopping in mid-air.

The video, filmed at Happy Valley on May 14, shows the ride, called Happy Hot Wheels, suddenly stopping mid-flight, leaving nine guests temporarily trapped.

Fortunately, the ride has an in-built fail-safe device which lowers it to the ground slowly if anything malfunctions while it's in action.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The video, captured in a Beijing theme park called Happy Valley on May 14, shows the 'Happy Hot Wheels ' with nine visitors on it suddenly stopping in the middle of the sky.

It got stuck in the air for around four minutes since the automatic protective device launched itself.

Fortunately, no reports of casualties.
