A heartwarming video has emerged of firefighters rescuing a calf after it fell into a six-metre-deep well.

The footage, captured in Xiamen, Fujian Province on May 25, shows a firefighter tied to a rope being lowered down into the well to tie a rope on the calf's front legs.

After pulling the man out of the well the other firefighters were able to lift the calf to the surface.

The rescue reportedly took an hour.
