Footage has emerged of huge waves hitting Porthleven, on Cornwall's coast and throwing venomous Portuguese Man O'War jellyfish on the roads due to storm Ophelia.

The storm was "sending huge plumes of spray high over the sea defences and flooding the coast road around the iconic clock tower."

Coastguards blocked the seaside road for safety concerns from the heavy swells.

Coastguards blocked the road around high tide due to safety concerns from the heavy swells, but there was added danger from the pasty-shaped Portuguese Man O'War jellyfish which were being thrown on to the road and harbour side by the onshore gales.
