This is the moment a lioness channels her inner house cat and leaps on the bonnet of a safari vehicle as it is about to set off.

Footage from the Crater national park in Tanzania shows the lionesses lazing about as a group of tourists take photos in a safari truck.

Suddenly, one of the animals wanders over to a vehicle and decides to leap on the bonnet.

Much like a house cat, it decides to lay down on the truck to inflict maximum inconvenience to the tourists.

The filmer writes: "We were terrified because the roof was open! Fortunately, she was not interested in fresh meat, but the warmth of the engine."

The footage was captured on February 24.

"I was on safari in the Ngorongoro National Park in Tanzania. It was February. That day early in the morning, we drove in off-road vehicles from the crater crown.
It rained in the morning. At one point, we saw lions family lying on the road. One of the lionesses came up to our car and jumped on a warm mask.
