Residents of the Indonesian city of Palu survey the destruction caused by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck off the coast of Sulawesi on September 28.

Footage filmed the morning after the tremor shows cracks along the ground and flattened homes as far as the eye can see.

The filmer, known as Sofyan, says in the clip: "This is the situation here. Everything is flat on the ground."

Official figures from Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) increased the death toll from 844 to 1,234 following the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

West Palu residents in Indonesia gathered to see their village destroyed by the earthquake 7.4 magnitude that occurred on Friday (28/9) at 6.02pm.

The conditions were filmed on Saturday (9/29) at around 7:00 a.m. in the visible ground which was previously flat down to 5 to 20 meters. Thousands of houses razed, the ground was cracked and trees fell.

Sofyan (35) the filmer said in his video, "This is the situation here. Everything is flat on the ground."

Meanwhile, until Tuesday (2/10), 4 days after the earthquake, as many as 1234 people died, according the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).
