Hurricane Oscar may have departed, but strong winds remain in the coastal county of Cornwall.

This video, filmed November 4, shows a surfer in action off a pier in Sennen. The strong waves can be seen knocking him off his feet.

Weather is expected to turn milder this week as the last of the storm wears off.

Surfers keep an eye on storm and hurricane systems which generate large amounts of swell, the ocean's nectar that they are drawn towards to ride a perfect wave for a few fleeting seconds. In stormy conditions such as these, they need to use every ounce of their expert skill and experience to enter the water and surf safely.

Entering the water can sometimes cause problems though, like for this surfer in Sennen, Cornwall, UK.
