Spectacular drone video captured another tunnel carved through the mountain cliffside in southwestern China's Bijie, which serves as the main road for villagers to go out of the mountain area.

The clip shows vehicles driving along the 470-metre-long and 4.5-metre-wide tunnel carved through the side of a mountain.

Since the villagers wanted to go out of the mountain area, they decided to build a road on the cliff to connect the nearest village in 2000.

The local government supported the project with goods, materials and partial funding.

The tunnel was carved successfully in 2003 despite one villager dying and over a dozen villagers being injured in the process. The tunnel has since been upgraded to a wider one in 2014, after another two year excavation.

这是一条在悬崖上凿出来的公路，悬挂在万仞绝壁上。470米长的这条挂壁公路，是赫章县白果街道石板河村519户人家出山的咽喉要道，也是山里人脱贫致富之路。
18年前的石板河，在大山的重重阻隔下，几乎与世隔绝。村里人只能从一条叫“梯子岩”的岩缝里进出，很多人一辈子没到过7公里外的独山乡。


改变始于2000年。这一年，不甘于被大山和悬崖束缚的石板河人，决定从川沟大岩上开凿一条路，连通最近的月亮洞村。在当地政府提供的物资和部分资金支持下，石板河村男女老少齐上阵，每天修路12个小时，就连大年初一都不休息。在付出1人死亡、10余人受伤的代价之后，2003年，他们在川沟大岩的绝壁上开凿出一条470余米长、勉强可供小车通过的挂壁公路。路通的那天，石板河比过年还热闹，大家全都集中到川沟大岩，穿着民族盛装，载歌载舞，庆祝通车。

2014年，石板河村被纳入赫章县村村通水泥路工程计划。经过两年的建设，这条悬崖上的通村路变成了一条约4.5米宽的水泥公路。

这条悬崖上的通村公路，为石板河村脱贫攻坚注入了强劲动力。目前，村里已成立了2个种植养殖专业合作社，从事生猪和肉牛养殖，带动29户群众脱贫。还有13名贫困人员参与道路保洁，拓宽了贫困户脱贫路子。
