A man attacked a bus driver in northern China with a watermelon after he tried to stop the vehicle but was ignored accidentally.

The terrifying moment, captured in Lvliang City in Shanxi Province on May 19, shows a man named Ma running onto the bus and smashing a watermelon held in his hands onto the driver Han's head.

Then Ma can be seen continuously slapping Han, the bus driver, and swearing at him.

According to reports, Ma tried to stop the bus but Han did not see him and kept driving forward.

Ma took a taxi to catch up and overtake the bus, stopped in front of it and got onto it to attack the bus driver.

Ma has been detained for 15 days and Han is still being treated in hospital, according to reports.

5月19日，山西文水一男子搭乘出租车拦停一辆公交车，上车后用西瓜砸向公交司机，继而又对司机进行殴打。经查，司机韩某志驾驶公交车行驶时，未发现路边拦车的马某林，随后马某林以公交车拦截未停为由，乘出租车追上公交车示意停车，公交车停驶后，马某林冲上去对韩某志进行殴打。目前，马某林被文水县公安局依法处以行政拘留15日之处罚。司机韩某志仍在医院接受治疗，已住院9天。
