Footage shows collapsed roof church as 8 people are killed in Philippines quake
Footage shows the collapsed roof of a church in the Philippines on Saturday (July 27) after an earthquake killed at least eight people and injured dozens more.
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Batanes archipelago, the US Geological Survey reported.
Around 20 minutes later, a second 4.5 magnitude quake hit the same area near Itbayat.
Footage from a village in Batanes shows the devastation caused to local stone buildings, with a church collapsing.
Mr Ricardo Jalad, executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), said eight people had died as of 9am in the morning.
He said they were hit by rubble and debris.
