Firefighters rescued an elderly man trapped in a wetland area in northern China's Qinhuangdao on October 15.

The video shows an old man getting trapped in the thick mud with only his shoulders and head above it.

Firemen tried to bring the elderly man back to safety by pulling a rope attached to his body together.

After ten minutes, the old man was pulled back to shore.

According to reports, the 76-year-old man was catching fish in the river but got trapped in the mud.

He was reportedly stuck in the wetland for around two hours. Fortunately, he was alright.

15号上午11时多，在秦皇岛市海港区河北大街西段汤河桥附近，一位市民发现有人陷进了河滩的淤泥当中，现场情况十分危急。
接到报警后，当地消防部门立即赶往现场，被困在淤泥中的是一位老人，淤泥当时已经没过了他的胸口，只露出头部和肩膀，整个身子被淤泥吸住，动弹不得，随时都可能出现意外。消防救援人员赶紧找到岸边比较坚硬的地方，把百米大绳和腰带抛给老人。
由于被困时间较长，老人手上又满是淤泥，根本抓不紧绳子。

10多分钟后，众人合力终于将老人从淤泥中拉了出来。经询问得知，老人今年76岁，就住在附近的小区。上午，因为想到河道中抓鱼食，却不小心陷入了淤泥中。到被救出时，老人已在淤泥里被困了2小时。目前，老人身体已无大碍。
