This is the moment police raided a Thai 'Sin City' pub where dozens of Brits were drinking - flouting a coronavirus lockdown.

The holidaymakers converged on the bar in Pattaya, Thailand, on Thursday afternoon (March 19) a day after the city closed all nightlife venues to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Furious cops stormed in and arrested the owner, while bemused Brits continued swigging beer then shuffled back to their hotels and apartments.

The resort has become a magnet for Brits because of its gogo bars, massage parlours and thousands of bars with hookers - but tourists will have to find other entertainment while the region goes into coronavirus lockdown.

Chonbur province governor Pakaratorn Tianchai said the raid followed the measure issued by the central government temporary closing bars, restaurants, brothels, cinemas and other entertainment venues.

He said that during the patrols, the police found the club, Rock Factory, had ignored the measure and opened for over 30 tourists.

They arrested the pub owner Rinrada Pothipad, 20, and her shareholder Nucharee Buaphetch before taking them to the station.

Sheriff Pornchai Suan-iad said the province needed the owners to cooperate or they will have to face heavy charge.

He said: "The close is only temporary to ease the spreading and if the situation should be better they can normally operate again.

"We need them to follow the order strictly because the situation could get worse and the order might be extended.

"Any owners who try to open their bar will face up to ear in prison and 100,000 THB (2,626GBP) fined at most."

Thailand on Saturday (March 21) went into lock down in the capital Bangkok with all shopping malls, bars restaurants and many other public places now closed.
