A fireman in eastern China hung upside-down to rescue a three-year-old boy trapped in a six-metre-deep well.

The video, shot in the city of Linyi in Shandong Province on April 18, shows firefighters tied breathing apparatus to a rope and sent it down into the well to ensure the boy had enough oxygen.

A fireman attached to the safety ropes was then lowered into the 0.4-metre-wide and six-metre-deep well. After he grabbed the boy, other firefighters lifted them up together.

After the boy was rescued, he was sent to hospital. He is not in life-threatening condition now.

4月18日，临沂市郯城县一名3岁男童在田间玩耍时意外坠入6米深的机井。消防员赶到现场后，发现机井处在乡间水泥路面上，口径只有40厘米，男童被困在距离井口大约6米的位置，仅头部露出水面，正在发出微弱的哭声。

此时3岁的男童已经在冰冷的井水中坚持了半个多小时，哭声渐渐微弱，井水随时有淹没头部导致孩子溺水的危险。时间紧迫。救援人员立即用绳索将空气呼吸器放到井内进行供氧，以保证孩子不会因井底空气不流通而发生缺氧危险。
经过研究，救援人员决定采取倒立下井救人的方案。男童落水的井口直径仅约40厘米，现场指挥员挑选了一名身材较为瘦小且体能较好的消防员做好下井准备。15点25分，在做好双重安全防护后的消防员立即进行倒立下井救援。确定下井消防员抓住孩子后，救援人员立即将救援绳慢慢往上拉，15点30分，下井的消防员和男童一起被提到井口处。此时，下井消防员由于头部充血眼睛视力较差，无法判断孩子是否被他人接住，所以不敢轻易放手。守在外面的消防员接过孩子时，他的身体已经被冰冷的井水冻得僵硬，仅存微弱呼吸，意识不太清醒。孩子在担架上时，四肢已经无法放下，始终保持着在井下被困求生的姿势。随后，男童被紧急送到医院进行救治。目前，已经脱离生命危险。
