Kid Pretends to Be a Dog, Plays Fetch With Ball
We were about to adopt a pandemic pup (a rescued poodle mix, who we were committing to adopting without being able to meet her first). 5-year-old Tzivia was SO EXCITED. She took out a miniature tennis ball we'd gotten for our dog-to-be and started pretending to be a dog, asking me to play fetch with her. At first I felt a little silly, but then I realized this was a kind of fun where I was able to relax on the couch while my kiddo expended energy. Win win. We adopted our dog (Violet), and she's totally great, but she couldn't care less about playing fetch.
