A huge worn-down water tank was demolished by authorities after it posed life-threatening risk to villagers in western India’s Gujarat.

The demolition work was carried out on July 20 by Demai village council in Aravalli's Bayad.

The 15-meter-high structure was reportedly constructed in a way that would not risk damage to nearby properties on being shattered.

Visuals show an excavator tugging onto a rope fastened to the tank’s body multiple times, followed by the tank crumbling down in less than three seconds.

No harm to life or property was reported in the execution of the operation.
