A toll gate staffer left his chair and fled after seeing a runaway truck whose brakes had failed.

A CCTV camera  at Dasarahalli toll plaza near Tumkur in Karnataka, India, filmed the dangerously speeding truck hitting a road divider and then swaying and toppling almost before it drove through the barricade.

A toll employee sitting on a chair saw the oncoming truck and ran to safety. Though he escaped, his chair was hit by the truck just a few moments later.

The driver managed to stop the vehicle on his own after passing the barricade.

Koratagere police said the accident was probably caused by a brake fail. But they are also checking if the driver was drunk when the incident happened. They have detained the driver and seized the vehicle.
