Chinese coach driver safely stops vehicle after being attacked by hammer-wielding passenger
A driver stopped a coach with 39 passengers safely after being attacked by a man with an emergency hammer in southern China.
The CCTV video, shot in the city of Liupanshui in Guizhou Province on January 9, shows a passenger suddenly walking to the driver and using an emergency hammer to hit the driver's head.
Other passengers tried to stop the assailant and the driver held the steering wheel tightly until he stopped the coach safely on the roadside.
The man was controlled by other passengers and the driver was seen using a cushion to cover his bleeding head.
The driver named Li Cai was hospitalised for treatment and he said he did not know the man who attacked him.
The case is under further investigation, reports said.
