A theme park has been abandoned for almost a decade – with its Ferris wheel eerily towering over the skyline.

Drone footage recorded at the weekend shows the defunct ride towering over the other attractions in the closed Wonder World park in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Ferris wheel stands between two massive roller coasters called ‘Tornado’ and Slalom.’

The park had to shut operation following a severe flood that devastated the region in 2011.

Equipment and machines were damaged and park management were unable to meet the maintenance costs.

Despite being closed for business permanently, the park is sometimes allowed to be used as venue for hosting events and exhibitions.
