Forest officials in the Indian district of Tamilnadu responded to a villager's alert after an 8-foot-long alligator was spotted in the area.

It is common to see crocodiles venturing in the village as it's near a forest but locals said they had never seen such a giant creature.

The reptile was immediately caught and released in the river.

Sivagayam is a village in Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu. As it is near the forest area many crocodiles from the deep woods come as guests to this village often. Likewise this time a giant crocodile that was 8 feet long and it was weighing up to 300 kilograms ventured the village. A farmer who went to do his daily chores just saw the crocodile and got scared so much. Then he immediately informed to the forest officials they arrived the spot immediately. They caught the crocodile and left it in the nearby river that was adjacent to the forest.
