John Steenhuisen and Geordin Hill-Lewis from the Democratic Alliance (DA), took aim at both Patricia De Lille's GOOD Party and Gayton Mckenzie's Patriotic Alliance during a protest outside the Lentegeur police station in Mitchells Plain.

DA Leader, John Steenhuisen, said the people of Mitchells Plain would not end gangsterism by putting "green gangsters" into the city council. This is in reference to Gayton Mckenzie, leader of the Patriotic Alliance. Mckenzie is a convicted criminal and former gangster who went into business and became an author and motivational speaker after serving his time.

Hill-Lewis accused the GOOD party of coming out to defend the ANC. GOOD was formed by Patricia De Lille after she resigned from the DA and as mayor of the City of Cape Town. Brett Herron is GOOD's mayoral candidate for Cape Town.
