Researchers have provided innovative stroke therapy robots to 12 hospitals across Thailand.

The team from the Faculties of Engineering and Medicine in Bangkok's Chulalongkorn University have finished the prototype and began distributing 'Chula' to main hospitals in the country.

Chula was designed to assist stroke patients in their therapy to help stimulate their nerves and ultimately hasten recovery.

Chulalongkorn University official Thanita Wangvanichapan said: 'The award-winning rehabilitation robots for stroke patients by Chula Engineering professors, which received the runner-up award at i-MEDBOT Innovation Contest 2021 is now operating in 12 hospitals across the country and giving stroke patients a new lease in life.'

Hospitals are now working with the robot's designers so that they could be borrowed by the patients who have been discharged.
