Rescue workers in Indonesia completed a dramatic nighttime operation to rescue a man who has been swept away while swimming under the tourist site of Ngun Ngun Tarak Waterfall, Air Dingin Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province.

Video shows search and rescue workers in Padang City, West Sumatra swimming around a river and finding the victim's body to safety on Friday night (11 March).

The Padang City SAR team was seen using a pulley system that had been lifted above the river to pull the male victim to safety.

According to one local report, visitors to the tourist site swam in the river in the afternoon, then suddenly drifted into the water as deep as 5 meters.

It took an hour and a half before the victims were rescued and handed over to their families, authorities said.
