Community prays for forgiveness after mob murder, 5 accused appear in court amidst protest by victims family

On the 31st of May 2022 Abongile Mafalala was attacked, murdered and set alight by an angry mob from the gang ridden are of Parkwood on the Cape Flats. Police allege he was robbed by a group who then used the cover of him being a kidnapper to attract the angry mob. Her was cornered on an empty field, beaten up and set alight.

Earlier today, 5 males appeared in the Wynberg magistrates court on charges of murder and damage to property. Family of Abongile and members from his community protested outside the courthouse and expressed their feelings on the incident
