Opposition party lays charges against South African Deputy President Paul Mashatile alleging corruption and fraud

The leader of the Democratic Alliance , John Steenhuizen laid charges against the Deputy President of South Africa Paul Mashatile at the Cape Town Central Police Station.

The DA alleges that during the current deputy president’s tenure as provincial Minister and national minister numerous payments and fraudulent transactions took place. It is also alleged that the deputy president used a thirty seven million rand home without declaring it.

An affidavit was filed as evidence and the DA is hopeful that the HAWKS, South Africa’s Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation will investigate the case.
