Indonesian police destroyed 35 kilograms of methamphetamine after seizing drug traffickers in Bukittinggi.

Footage from June 15 shows officers mixing the drugs with detergent before pouring the mixture into a pit and burying it.

The West Sumatra regional police chief, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa, said the 35 narcotics packages weighing 1 kilogram each belonged to two men suspected of being international drug dealers.

Indonesian police destroyed 35 kg of methamphetamine which was evidence of a crime against international narcotics trafficking networks.

Footage filmed in the Bukittinggi resort police headquarters, West Sumatra province on June 15, shows police removing methamphetamine from a Chinese tea package, mixing it with a detergent and then burying it.

The West Sumatra regional police chief, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa, said the 35 narcotics packages weighing 1 kg each belonged to two suspects suspected of being international drug dealers.

Previously, on May 14 to 20, the police arrested eight suspects and confiscated 41.4 kg of crystal methamphetamine which is estimated to be worth Rp 62.1 billion.

"Of the 8 suspects, 6 are narcotics traffickers. One is a big dealer at the provincial level, but on a national scale, Jakarta has arrested 2 tons of crystal methamphetamine," Inspector General Minahasa added.

The suspects face up to 20 years in prison, life and the death penalty.
