Two killed as electric car falls from third floor of parking lot in Shanghai
Two people were killed as an electric car fell from the third floor of a parking lot in Shanghai.
In the video, firefighters were seen trying to free two people trapped in the car.
The test car was made by a Chinese electric vehicle start-up called Nio.
One member of staff from Nio and a person from their partner company died in the crash.
Nio initially issued a statement saying: "It was an accident and it was not caused by the vehicle." This triggered many angry responses from social media users.
One netizen commented: "The sentence is so cold-blooded. It should be the police rather than your own company to confirm whether it was an accident."
Nio then revised the statement and put "not caused by the vehicle" in brackets.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the police. The video was provided by local media with permission.
