Cooldown equipment installed in zoo for animals amid scorching heatwave in China
Cooldown equipment was installed in a zoo for animals amid increasingly high temperatures in eastern China.
Video filmed in the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang Province on July 9 shows water spray equipment, electric fans, and pools being used to help animals including Asian elephants, red pandas, giraffes, zebras, and ring-tailed lemurs to cool down at Ningbo Wildlife Park.
Air conditioners were even installed in the panda's enclosure and keepers also prepared ice cubs and fresh fruits for the animals.
The temperature reportedly reached 36 Celcius, or 97 degrees Farenheit, in Ningbo on July 9.
