Elderly people lay on supermarket shelves to escape heatwave in central China
Elderly people sat and laid down on shelves in a supermarket to avoid the heat in central China.
Video filmed in the city of Xiaogan in Hubei Province on August 15 shows some people sitting on the shelves to rest and an elderly man even laying down on an isle's bottom shelf.
According to the supermarket's employees, they have tried to persuade the elderly people to leave and they also had a written reminder, but it did not work.
The highest temperature reached 38 degrees Celsius on that day.
