This is the moment a tiny spark grew into flames that engulfed a motorcycle -- and nearly the entire auto shop -- while it was being repaired in a garage in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the vehicle's underside catching fire while mechanic Lee Chana was fiddling with it in his repair shop in Songkhla province on October 2.

Incredibly, he did not have a fire extinguisher to hand and even when he raced to douse the flames with water he could not as only foam or powder extinguishers are effective against flammable liquid fires. Water can even help them spread, as it did.

The stubborn blaze quickly grew, almost engulfing neighbouring vehicles.

Finally -- after also trying and failing to use small splashes of water -- another worker was able to finally extinguish the fire.

Incredibly, no other items in the garage were damaged.

Lee said: "The motorcycle belongs to my younger brother. The fire started from a tiny spark from the motorcycle. Luckily, nobody was hurt."

The blaze torched the two-wheeler before staff finally extinguished it. No other items in the garage were damaged.
