A large wild monitor lizard shocked resident as it crawled across their roof while looking for food.

The reptile clambered up the drainage pipe while wandering through the family's property's garden in Bangkok, Thailand on October 20.

It was crawling around the structure until the terrified residents saw its 5ft-long figure on the transparent roof.

Footage shows the animal visible from the house's ceiling. It then moved away to another part of the house as the resident followed it around while waiting for help.

House owner Kung said: ‘I was getting a glass of water when I noticed the animal's shape above. It was so big. I had goosebumps. It was like being in a Jurassic World movie.'

The rescuers arrived at the house but the creature was no longer around.

They left a chicken bait inside a cage hoping it would take it but it appeared to have left the property after the sighting.

Kung said: ‘We watched the CCTV on other parts of the house and saw it was using a pipe as its way in and out of the roof.

‘We will be putting in trap around these areas and contact the rescuers in case the big animal returns so they could move it to the wild.'
