The 2022 Africa Tech convention brought vendors and exhibitors back in their numbers. This is the first public event that the organisers have had since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020. The event which is in its 25th year has been held in the Cape Town International Convention Centre and has had more than 25000 registrations.

Aurore Corella, a senior marketing manager at Africa Tech Festival (organisers) said “The advent of Covid obviously impacted the event immensely. We we not able to meet our clients face to face.

On how the Covid pandemic affected the festival Corella said “We needed to stay connected. So the use of the internet, and we were able to connect people, it was at the forefront of everything we were doing as a business as an event business.”

The Africa Tech Festival kicked off at the Cape Town Convention Centre on 7 November and runs until 11 November. The event allows technology industry players like America’s Motorola and South African Telecoms giants like MTN and Vodacom to connect with everyone from startup techs to government and corporate technology buyers.
