Fire destroys Aerosoft shoes factory injuring three in Bangkok, Thailand
Fire ripped through a shoe factory injuring at least three people on the outskirts of Bangkok on Thursday evening.
Flames erupted on the ground floor of the Summit Footwear building following a suspected electrical short circuit as workers finished their shifts at around 5:0pm local time.
Terrified staff fled the factory, which makes Aerosoft trainers, while fire crews raced to the scene in Samut Prakan province.
Officials said it took more than six hours to extinguish the inferno, which caused damages of an estimated 20 million Baht (559,597 USD / 472,073 GBP).
Police closed surrounding roads as firefighters battled the flames. They are now securing the building amid fears the weakened structural supports could collapse.
Aerosoft was one of the sponsors of the Euro 2020 football tournament in which England lost in the finals to the southern Mediterranean powerhouses Italy.
