A Thai man was rushed to hospital after clamping a do-it-yourself chastity lock onto his testicles.

The 30-year-old local told medics he had seen the devices being used online and was 'playing around' when he tried to copy the BDSM stunt in Bangkok, Thailand.

However, instead of ordering a safe plastic and silicone rubber lock, he raided his dad's toolbox and found an unused padlock - forgetting that he would need a key to remove the device.

The young man clamped the metal 'MR DIY' lock onto the top of his testicles but after two nights he was in pain. He was taken to the emergency room of an upmarket private hospital on Saturday night.

Medics were unable to help so fire and rescue workers were called to cut away the thick metal lock using a handheld electric mini-circular saw.

They were not as discreet as the local doctors and recorded the man nervously tapping his fingers and then clenching his fists as the padlock was hacked away.

Rescue officer Chuchart said: 'A small piece of metal was slid between the lock and patient's skin to prevent him from being injured by the saw. There were still some cuts on his testicles, which was quite painful for him.

'He was lucky that the area was not infected. It was swollen and it could have been a lot worse.

'This thing happens a lot when people start playing around and using things as sex toys. We have to warn people not to use industrial hardware for this kind of thing.'

Medics doused the distended area with water and a numbing agent to provide relief before finally forcing the chastity lock open after 30 minutes.

The attending doctor has prescribed precautionary antibiotics to the patient to prevent and warned his family to keep a closer eye on him to prevent a similar incident from happening.
