A minibus with eight people on it plunged into the water from a floating bridge, killing 5 in central China.

The video was filmed in the city of Enshi in Hubei Province on May 16.

Two vehicles were driving steadily on the latter half of the floating bridge when a black minibus involved in the incident entered the bridge at a slightly faster speed. At that moment, the bridge was partially submerged, causing the vehicle to skid.

After several attempts to correct its direction, the minibus broke through the guardrail and the front end plunged into the water, while the rear end remained suspended on the barrier.

Subsequently, the other two vehicles following behind encountered increased undulations on the bridge. The black minibus slid entirely into the water, sinking rapidly.

In another close-up video recorded by a tourist, three individuals were seen being pulled onto the floating bridge by arriving visitors. The person filming and other tourists repeatedly shouted, "Is anyone a good swimmer? Please save them quickly!"

More people rushed to the scene, and an elderly woman with grey hair thanked everyone with a bow, repeatedly pleading, "Please, there are still five people."

Two men attempted to undress and enter the water to rescue the victims, but the depth of the dark green water remained uncertain, causing them to abandon the idea. Soon after, a man in uniform arrived with a lifebuoy, prompting someone nearby to comment, "He doesn't know how to swim either."

According to a representative of the scenic area, the tourists in the vehicle were self-driving visitors. Additionally, a knowledgeable source revealed that all eight occupants of the vehicle hailed from Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, with the deceased including three women and two men, ranging in age from 50 to 55, without any shared surnames.

It is known that the floating bridge was constructed in early 2015 for vehicular tourism purposes. It was put into use in 2016 and this is the first such incident to occur.
