A motorist fled a gas station in Okhta, the Sakhalin region of Russia, despite their vehicle catching fire.

CCTV footage from May 18 shows two men filling a white car when flames begin erupting from the fuel pump.

The fire quickly spreads from the pump to the driver's clothes who quickly pats himself down before getting into the vehicle.

The motorist then drives off despite the rear of their vehicle still being alight.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene soon after and managed to extinguish the flames.

The driver suffered first and second-degree burns but escaped without any life-threatening injuries.
