Quick-thinking staff members extinguished a blazing car after a collision at a petrol station in southern China.

Dramatic video filmed in the city of Yichun in Jiangxi Province on October 4 shows an electric SUV speeding into a petrol station, crashing directly into the corner of a convenience store.

Following the collision, where the car's underbelly scraped against the cement curb, thick smoke billowed, quickly followed by flames erupting from beneath the vehicle.

The station manager, Huang Wenlong yelled, "Activate emergency procedures! Get the fire extinguishers!" Without a moment's hesitation, the station employees leapt into action. They swiftly cut off the power to the fuel pumps, evacuated vehicles from the scene, and bravely approached the blazing car with fire extinguishers.

Thanks to their quick response, the flames were extinguished in less than 30 seconds.

As the fire department arrived on the scene, they swiftly began their rescue operations. Just as they extracted two passengers from the rear seats, flames shot up again from the vehicle. But after a tense five-minute battle, the firefighters managed to put out the fire completely.

Upon investigation using surveillance footage, it was discovered that the catastrophe occurred due to a driving error. The driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, failing to take the necessary precautions, which led to the car crashing into the store corner and subsequently igniting.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
