Forest officials successfully rescued a leopard from a 20-foot deep dry well in Jhansi district's Chirgaon forest, India's Madhya Pradesh. The poor animal had been trapped for a gruelling 13-hour period before being saved. It fell on the night of June 5.

The footage, which was filmed on June 6, shows the big cat lying inside the well and looking at the light coming from the above hole. In order to safely free the animal, rescuers used a tranquiliser. They then went down the well with the help of a ladder and brought it out. Strangely enough, a chicken was found beside it.

The rescue operation lasted 13 hours.
